Who am I?
My name is Kelsie Hesselink. This is my sixth year teaching at Lincoln Elementary School. I am a 2007 graduate from Sault Area High School and then continued my education at Lake Superior State University graduating in 2014. At LSSU I earned my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Integrated Science and English, with highly concentrated studies in Early Childhood Education. The summer of 2016 I completed my ZS Endorsement in Early Childhood Education. My internship was completed at Superior Start School Readiness Center on LSSU Campus. I also completed a Blended Learning Course that will enhance technology that is used in my classroom and allow students to complete assignments and activities online.
My teaching history includes my student teaching where I worked at Lincoln Elementary in a second grade classroom with Mrs. Williams. My first year teaching, I had the pleasure of being at Lincoln three days a week teaching Art and Music for grades Jr. Kindergarten - Fifth. I was then placed in the third grade classroom where I am teaching today. I am eager to begin another year as a third grade teacher!
I am originally from Sault Ste. Marie, MI. My hobbies include golfing in the summer, hiking, reading, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends. My husband and I are welcoming our first child at the beginning of this school year.
